Ayurveda is the ancient Indian science of healing. Through its
research projects, the hospital promotes knowledge about ayurvedic
medicine and encourages its acceptance in the medical profession
in India and abroad. The centre is located beside the quiet
backwaters opposite Amritapuri. It was inaugurated in 2004.
The 250-bed hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities,
including two operating theatres and eight speciality departments.
It maintains an outpatient clinic, which also provides
panchakarma, an ancient purification treatment.
AMRITA VISHUDDHI AYURVEDIC CLINIC, AMRITAPURI ASHRAM
This ayurvedic clinic provides traditional panchakarma treatment for visitors staying in the Ashram. Panchakarma is an ancient detoxifying process involving massage, oil baths and other methods of purification.
Ashram doctors and trained ashram residents give treatments and prepare herbal medicines as part of their selfless service. Doctor's consultations are free for the poor.
AMRITA LIFE PRODUCTS
This new state-of-the-art Ayurveda Medicine Manufacturing Unit commenced production on May 19th, 2008. Through re-establishing ancient and traditional methods of manufacturing medicines, Amrita Life aims to improve the quality of life through various approaches of Ayurveda.
