Free Carehomes
The elderly come to Amma's homes for refuge from troubled families,
or because they have no one to look after them, or simply because they
want to spend their last years in a tranquil spiritual ambiance. The residents
feel the care homes have a family atmosphere, and they regularly
participate in activities around the home. The care homes are located in
Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu, in Kottayam, Kerala, and in Bangalore and Karwar
in Karnataka.
Each of the four homes has been built in a serene location,
either in the country or near a branch ashram. The homes have a hall for
prayer and community functions, including cultural programmes, in which
neighbours and friends often participate.
