Raising money for Amma's visit

Sponsorship for Amma’s visit

We would again like to encourage devotees to cover the cost of some of the major items that are needed for Amma’s visit. This was very successful last year and most of the major items of expenditure were sponsored by individuals. If you would like to sponsor the whole or part of some of the major fixed costs we face, please consider the list below. Alternatively, you may wish to sponsor one of the cash prizes for the visit raffle. This year, again, we are fortunate that Paradise Travel have agreed to sponsor the first prize. If you would like to sponsor one of the cash prizes, please contact Shanker on the number above. The prizes will be: 1st Prize Return Flight to South India Two 2nd Prizes of £100 each Two 3 rd prizes of £50 each and Five Special Prizes of £20 each

Joining together to pay for Amma's visit this year

Since announcing this new scheme for raising money for Amma's visit, we have £3,140 pledged/year by a total of 31 people (16 people have not said how much this amount would be, so this is working on the minimum amount). So why not join us? Like ripples on a pool this simple act of kindness will radiate out and affect the lives of many. You would be part of a larger community helping to bring Amma once again to London , enabling more people to experience Her loving embrace; and allowing Her many charitable activities to benefit from the funds that are raised at the visit. If each of YOU also can ask two other people to support this scheme the donations will increase exponentially.

Here is an explanation of the thinking behind this: holding Amma’s programme at a much better venue means that the costs are far higher. This year’s programme has cost approximately twice as much as programmes at Crystal Palace . It has always been the intention of those running programmes in Europe, including London, to meet the costs of putting on Amma’s visit from donations and fund-raising activities before the actual visit, so that all monies raised at the visit, e.g. from food sales, can go as charitable donations to support Amma’s humanitarian activities.

We therefore seriously need to “up our game” to meet the increased costs so we think it would be good idea to raise all the money for the event from direct donations (as already happens on other countries)

This year we plan to raise the £60,000 needed by as many people as possible giving a small amount each month by Standing Order to an Ethical Bank (Triodos). The suggested amounts are as follows:

If we are to succeed in accruing £60,000 for next year it would require:

£5/mth from 1,000 people
£10/mth from 500 people
£15/mth from 333 people
£20/mth from 250 people.
