Planning for Amma's Visit
A revitalised Friends of Amma UK
The third and final revitalisation session was held on the 6 July. With everyone’s help we managed to achieve all the goals we had set ourselves, including bringing in seven new committee members and a new pro-active style geared to fulfilling Amma’s mission (see http://friendsofamma.org.uk for a report of the meeting).
We would like to thank everyone who has made this progress possible. Now we have collectively put the structure in place, the work of implementation has just begun. For this we need your help. Please click here for the paper ‘What needs doing’ and let us know in which sector/area of activity you would like to make a contribution, however small.
You can email us on mailings@amma.org.uk.
Sunday 17 August: mail-out day
Venue: The Bhavan, 4a Castletown Road, West Kensington,
London W14 9HE
Time: 10am-4pm
This is an excellent opportunity for some pre-visit seva; we shall need the assistance of as many as possible to help with the annual mail-out to all devotees with information about the visit.
The mail-out will be followed by a visit meeting to update everyone on arrangements for the visit and to hear from individual co-ordinators what they will be requiring in terms of help before and during the visit. This will be a good opportunity to make contact with the co-ordinators if you are interested in helping in specific areas.
Please contact Shanker on 0207 603 6868 (6-9pm) shanker@amma.org.uk to let us know if you are able to come.
Seva (volunteering) opportunities
during Amma’s visit
As you will be aware, all the work involved in preparing for and putting on Amma’s visit to London is done by volunteers. And as the visit attracts more and more people each year, we need to have more helpers as well. If you are planning to attend the visit for a day or more, you may well be interested in taking part in the planning of the visit and in taking on a particular volunteer activity (seva) during the visit.
