Successful Richmond Park Sponsored Walk

Summer 2005

Many people took part in the sponsored walk in Richmond Park to raise money for Amma’s charities in India, raising a total of £2,151 (including pledges).

The Mystery Prize for the walkers’ raffle, which Amma had personally blessed for the walk while she was in the US, was a '5 Metals Bangle’ and this was won by Kannan. The second prize, of Gurupurnima 2003 video' was won by Sivakami and the third prize of 'eatables' by Mr SubramanI AM.

“The magical sights for me on the day were watching the swallows feeding on the flies hovering above the pond water, the deer's heads peeking through the high grasses and the children running and playing. The magical sounds were that of the constant grasshopper humming, the laughter of everyone around me and my mantra echoing in the trees. We were welcomed back with food and muffins and I enjoyed my day very much. Thank-you to those who organised it and made it possible.” – Sofia
